More searches now end with an AI-written answer at the top of Google. Business owners are asking us how to get into those answers. Google's own guidance for site owners is clear: there are no special requirements or extra optimizations needed to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode. The same fundamentals that help you rank also help you get cited.
Make sure Google can find and read your site
- Verify your site in Google Search Console and submit a sitemap
- Make sure pages are not blocked from search by a setting or plugin
- Keep important information in text, not only in images or PDFs
- Link your key pages to each other so they are easy to discover
Answer the questions customers ask
Give each main service its own page. Explain what it is, who it is for, what it typically involves and the areas you serve, in plain language. AI answers pull from pages that answer questions clearly.
Keep your Business Profile current
Google specifically recommends keeping Business Profile information up to date. Hours, services, photos, holiday hours and new reviews all feed what people see. Our Google Business Profile guide covers each step.
Build trust signals
- Steady, recent reviews on Google
- Consistent name, address and phone number everywhere you are listed
- Real photos of your team, work and location
- Mentions from local organizations, partners and media
You do not need special files or new markup for AI search. You need a fast, clear, well-organized site and an active presence. If you are not sure where your site stands, we can run a quick review.
